Do you create a software product with FileMaker?
If so, this short meeting is for you! We will discuss the following questions: · What is the pro’s and con’s to use FileMaker as a development environment? · What model do you use to deliver upgrades of your software? · How do you handle other aspects such as language support, customer request, print outs and so on?
Do we as a group need to talk more and to address FileMaker with our needs of features and functions in the development environment of FileMaker?
Brad Freitag leads FileMaker’s sales teams, and he is also responsible for the company’s FileMaker Business Alliance of partners and resellers.
Prior to joining FileMaker in 2013, Freitag held senior executive sales positions at Roambi, Host Analytics, Inc., Hyperion Solutions (now part of Oracle), and IBM. Freitag holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Anand is a Senior Product Manager at FileMaker, resposible for FileMaker Cloud. He has fifteen years of experience as a Product Manager, most recently having worked for NetApp.
André Just Vedgren
André Just Vedgren holds an M.Sc. in software development and is certified FileMaker developer in all product versions from 7 to 15. He first got his hands on FileMaker Pro 2.0 in 1992 and has developed solutions for small and medium sized Danish and international companies ever since. And as FileMaker is not an island, integration with external systems using APIs, PHP and SQL is just a natural part of the toolbox. André has been a regular attendee and speaker at the Scandinavian FileMaker DevCons since 2007.
After more than 15 years in the consulting business, André now acts as assistant director of IT development at DIS – Study Abroad in Scandinavia based in Copenhagen.
Robert has been working as a consultant with FileMaker for 20 years. He has written several articles and training material for FileMaker and Web publishing using FileMaker. Robert has been a speaker at both national and international FileMaker events.
Awarded the FBA Excellence Awards at DevCon at Las Vegas for best development 2016.
Robert Eriksson is one of the founders of Smarta System Norden AB. At Smarta System we are working with a big variety of companies and have been in business for over 10 years.
Working as a systems developer and is certified in FileMaker 15. Has been in the game since FileMaker 2 and worked previously at Studentlitteratur. Bo is a Civil Engineer and has been on the whole computer journey since the early 80’s.
Mark started with FileMaker over 8years ago in a 1st line support role, working with a management product for creative agencies. He progressed through the support roles and into a junior developer role. Next stop was an energy brokerage company to rebuilt their in-house system and developed multiple data mining tools based on the UK energy markets. Widening his talent pool a sideways step into website project management was next, which helped expand his knowledge base and develop better planning and team management skills, but still delivering freelance FileMaker consultancy and development on the side. After a short career break Mark was back in the fold with a senior developer role, building a SaaS product for recruitment agencies. Promoted in this company to Head of Technical which included development as well as team and project management. All this culminating in Mark moving on to becoming General Manager of Atatiki Limited (UK) which is part of the Atatiki Group of companies. Atatiki Limited now focus on custom business applications for a wide range of clients across Europe.
Niklas Swedenborg a certified FileMaker developer and the founder of Square Moon, a software development company located in Malmö. When he’s not guiding clients through the process of custom application development, you’ll find him browsing the web for the ultimate pair of sneakers, riding his bike or hanging out with friends and family.
Claus is the senior developer and founder of DataManix and has been a FileMaker developer since 1994. Through the years he has developed all types and sizes of systems, as well as integrated with a wide range of different systems and hardware. He has developed solutions for companies in all sizes, from small businesses to international enterprises with more than 120,000 employees. He also holds a degree in commercial photography.
Claus has hosted several sessions at developer conferences around the world, including FileMaker DevCon in the United States, regional DevCons as well as many seminars, dotFMP, training sessions and workshops.
Jesse started writing databases with FileMaker Pro version 2.1 in 1992. He founded 360Works in 1996, and is the primary author of MirrorSync, CloudMail, and many other 360Works products.
Jesse has been a speaker at several previous DevCons, Pause On Error, FMAcademy, and numerous user groups around the United States. He received the FileMaker Excellence award for Outstanding Contribution to the FileMaker Community and is certified in all versions of FileMaker.
He enjoys backpacking, role playing games, ping pong, and is greatly looking forward to his first trip to Sweden for this conference!

Junior Verreijt-Nielsen has been a database developer (and founder of the company JUNIOR) for more than 20 years.
Due to the big impact the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has on business, Junior Verreijt-Nielsen have worked with this topic for a longer period.
Carsten is an external lecturer at The IT University of Copenhagen with focus on Enterprise Systems and Digital & Mobile Solutions in a fast changing environment.
Carsten is a Certified Filemaker Developer from 7-16, Authorized FileMaker Trainer and has received the FileMaker Excellence Award. He is also among the initial founders of FileMaker Devcon Scandinavia and has performed sessions at every one of the ten previous conferences.
It is no secret that Carstens presentations might provoke discussions when he on purpose tries to field provoking views on development strategy and the future of FileMaker development. Unfriendly friends might claim that he is better at strategy and surfing the surface than at the deeper elements of coding.
Carsten is the CEO of Codeo Danmark Aps and together with his Partner Bo Sigaard he also behind Codeo Nordic and Codeo Solutions.
Søren Rabbe has been a FileMaker developer for more than 25 years. With a background in computer science and programming for large Danish or international companies, Søren founded Rabbe Consult a/s back in 1993. Rabbe Consult a/s has been responsible for a number of larger FileMaker solutions as well as standard FileMaker based products as conference management systems and course management systems. Rabbe Consult a/s is also a leading developer of Custom Web Publishing solutions, based on FileMaker, PHP and REST/JSON.
Johan is Partner and Senior Developer at Atatiki AB. He often holds lectures at Scandinavian DevCon and FileMaker roadshows. In 2015 and 2016, he spoke to FileMaker DevCon in Las Vegas. Johan’s goal is to provide our customers with technical guidance of high quality while also helping to raise awareness with other FileMaker developers.
Johan has developed solutions on the FileMaker platform for more than 15 years.
Johan has been selected as one of the first FileMaker Champions.
Jeroen has been a software developer for more than 16 years. He started as an in-house developer and worked for a short period as an independent contractor. He co-founded ClickWorks in 2005, together with his brother Joris. Jeroen is a FileMaker 8 until 15 Certified Developer. Jeroen is also well experienced in XML and XSLT, PHP, MySQL. In the winter you are likely to see Jeroen breaking the ice on the pond prior to taking a freezing dip.
Joris has been over 20 years in IT, both as trainer and developer, and is a specialist in database applications such as FileMaker Pro, MS Access and MS SQL Server. Apart from his extensive experience he brings acute and probing analytical skills to bear. “Being a trainer has taught me how important the human factor is to the success of an IT project”. Joris is a FileMaker 7 until 15 Certified Developer. He’s a frequent speaker at various occasions: FM Summit, FMconf, dotFMP, FileMaker Webinars and Live Events. Joris is also a passionate sailor and an enthusiastic Electric Vehicle driver.
Peter is an experienced visualization and analytics professional with more than 15 years experience in the enterprise software and consulting industry.
In his current role as Sales Consultant with Tableau he specializes in sales & technical enablement and solutions architecture.
Albert founded a small consulting firm that he ran from the kitchen table. That company, SmallCo, is now world-renowned for software design, and Albert’s clients and partners are spread across three continents. They include Harvard University, the New York Public Library, Fidelity Investments, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Time Inc.
Albert now teaches master classes in software design, and supervises the work of his staff of four.
Conference registration and prices
DevCon conference registration includes admission to all sessions, as long as you have agreed to the NDA, and it give you two lunches and one dinner plus coffee breaks..
